In its quest to catch up with X (formerly Twitter), Meta’s Threads is now rolling out two new features to enhance the user experience and engagement on the platform. The new features are polls and GIF.
As the name suggests, the new polls feature allows users to add polls to their posts. Users can add up to four choices/options to the poll, and the voting will be open for 24 hours. Users can vote from mobile or web.

On the other hand, with the GIF feature, users can add a GIF to their posts. However, there is a catch. Users can add only one GIF per post. Also, if they add a GIF, they won’t be able to add other media.
Step 1: Open Threads app.
Step 2: Start a new thread or reply to someone on mobile and tap the GIF icon.
Step 3: Now, you will see a search bar and a GIFs menu.
Step 4: Select the GIF that you want to add to your post.
It’s important to note that the new polls and GIF features are currently rolling out. So, if you haven’t received the features yet, just wait a little while.
Last month, Threads announced that users can now switch between multiple Threads profiles on mobile. Instagram head Adam Mosseri also announced two new features for Threads– the ability to follow a thread by turning on notifications for 24 hours without following the account, and the ability to quote other posts on web.
