Dubbed as an Android tablet for kids, the MOSTI Chhota Bheem Tab also doubles up as a pretty good learning device for tiny tots aged 3 years and above. Here you can see it in its original box pack. The manufacturers, however, claim that the retail packing is even more reinforced in bubble wrap and extra padding.

The Chhota Bheem Tab has a nice chunky bezel all around its screen to ensure kids can get a good grip of the tablet. What's more, although MOSTI doesn't advertise the fact, the tablet is pretty well built to survive accidentall knocks / shocks. We dropped it from a 3-foot high table multiple times, while the tablet was ON, and it survived the drop without any visible damage. Kid-proof enough, we think. Here you can also see its 3.5mm hack, mini-USB port, screen lock, and SD card slot. The sceen lock is a good idea if you want to put on a video and give it to a toddler who won't be able to accidently stop play back.

The MOSTI Chhota Bheem Tab is meant to be used in portrait mode, as it has volume buttons (on the left) and Menu buttons (on the right) placed on either side of its 7-inch screen. Of course it can also be used in landscape as and when an app demands it.

The volume buttons (zoomed in here) and menu buttons have a nice clickety-clack feel. They aren't precision-cut, like the buttons you're used to seeing on mid-to-high-end phones or tablets, but they're large and bold, which makes it easy for kids to use them without a hitch.

The Chhota Bheem Tab also comes with a 2MP rear camera for shooting photos and videos. It's not great, but it will do, especially if you're a 3-year-old kid – its intended user. The backpanel is encased in the same hard plastic jacket that surrounds the tablet's screen bezel, and it exudes immense confidence as far as build quality is concerned.

This screen shows the KIDO'Z (pronounced as "KID OS") app that's built into the Android Jellybean OS of the MOSTI Chhota Bheem Tab. KIDO'Z has its own curated app store, ensuring kids are exposed to the right content for their age, with adequate supervision. The tablet doesn't come with Google Play Store built in for this very reason. The tablet boots into this UI and it can't be exited without a password (which is set by the parents).

The KIDO'Z version also ensures that the parent controls the tablet through an admin account, and the kids using the MOSTI Chhota Bheem Tab always log into a separate user account which is easy to supervise and control. The OS allows you to have as many user accounts as you wish, according to MOSTI.

Finally, these are all the contents of the package of the MOSTI Chhota Bheem Tab. It comes with a mini-USB cable and charging adapter, apart from the tablet, warranty card, and the myriad user guides. The important question – at Rs. 8,499, would you buy this for a 3+ year old kid in your household? If your kid sees it somewhere though you may not have much of choice in the matter, since Chota Bheem (the character) has now become a kiddie favourite!
