The original Moto X is a very good smartphone to buy. Its price has dropped to around Rs. 22,000, which increases the value. It is still likely to get the Android L update early and would make for a good purchase.
Samsung Galaxy Alpha
Samsung has made a very good smartphone in the Galaxy Alpha. We are yet to review it, but the device looked good on our first impressions. It has a 4.7 inch display and a Exynos 5 SoC and is amazingly light.
iPhone 5S
In ranking Apple amongst the most expensive smartphone available in the market, we often forget that the iPhone 5S is also one of the most compact devices. It runs on Apple's revolutionary A7 chipset and is one of the best performing devices with a 4 inch display. Also, while the Galaxy Alpha weights 115 grams, the 5S weighs 112 grams.
BlackBerry Z10
BlackBerry is looking ahead with its weirdly shaped Passport, but it has other devices too. Priced right now at around Rs. 15,000, the BlackBerry Z10 is a good smartphone for BB enthusiasts and lovers. If you don't mind the brand and Android, iOS or Windows don't suit your fancy, then this is always a good choice.
Sony Xperia Z3 Compact
Sony made a blunder with the pricing of the Xperia Z3 Compact and we had to factor that into our review, but the phone still remains one of the best and most powerful compact devices in the market right now. It has a 4.6 inch display with the Snapdragon 801 chipset.
