September was an exciting month with new phones being launched by Apple, Samsung, Google, and many more. These devices range from high-end smartphones that come with the latest technology to budget phones that aim to offer the best value for money. All of these have already or will now make their way into India, so watch out for them!
Apple iPhone 6s / iPhone 6s Plus
The Apple iPhone 6s and the iPhone 6s Plus were announced during Apple’s September 9 event. Both the devices come with improved specifications as compared to the iPhone 6 and the iPhone 6 Plus and have 12MP iSight cameras along with 3D Touch.
Both these devices will be launched in India on October 16.
Samsung Galaxy Note 5
The Samsung Galaxy Note 5 was launched in India on September 7. Samsung’s flagship phablet comes with a 5.7-inch QHD S-AMOLED display. It is powered by an Exynos 7420 SoC with 4GB of RAM. At the back is a 16MP camera while there is a 5MP camera on the front. As with other Note devices, the Note 5 also comes with a stylus.
It is priced at Rs. 53,900 and Rs. 59,900 for the 32GB and 64GB variants respectively.
Sony Xperia M5 Dual
The Sony Xperia M5 Dual comes with a 5-inch full HD display with the company's BRAVIA Engine 2. At the back of the device is a 21.5MP camera and a 13MP front facing camera. It is powered by a 2GHz MediaTek Helio X10 processor with 3GB RAM. The device comes with 16GB of internal storage that can be expanded up to 200GB.
The Sony Xperia M5 Dual is priced at Rs. 37,990.
Google Nexus 5X / Nexus 6P
Launched just a few days back, the LG Nexus 5X and the Huawei Nexus 6P are the newest devices to bear the Nexus moniker. The 5X comes with a 5.2-inch Full HD display with a 12.3MP camera at the back. It is powered by a Snapdragon 808 SoC with 2GB of RAM. The 6P comes with a 5.7-inch WQHD display and a 12.3MP rear camera. It is powered by a Snapdragon 810 v2.1 SoC with 3GB of RAM. Both the devices come with Android v6.0
These devices will possibly be up for pre-order in October. Both were listed on the Google Store with prices for the 5X starting at Rs. 31,900 while prices for the 6P will start at Rs. 39,990.
Lenovo VIBE Shot
The highlight of the Lenovo VIBE Shot is the 16MP rear camera with a 6-element lens module and OIS. It is powered by a 1.7GHz Snapdragon 615 processor with 3GB RAM. It also has a 5-inch Full HD display and an 8MP front camera.
The Lenovo VIBE Shot is priced at Rs. 25,499.
Moto X Play
The Moto X Play comes with a 5.5-inch Full HD display and a 3630mAh battery which Motorola claims to offer 30 hours of use between charges. At the back there is a 21MP camera while at the front there is a 5MP camera. It also comes with a 1.7GHz Snapdragon 615 SoC and 2GB of RAM.
The Moto X Play is available in two variants. The 16GB version is priced at Rs 18,499 while the 32GB version is priced at Rs. 19,999.
Asus Zenfone Go
The Asus Zenfone Go comes with a 5-inch HD IPS display with 8GB of inbuilt storage that’s expandable upto 64GB. At the back of the device is an 8MP primary camera with a 2MP front facing camera. It is powered by a 1.3GHz quad-core MediaTek MT6580 processor with 2GB RAM.
The Asus Zenfone Go is priced at Rs. 7,999.
Yu Yunique
The Yu Yunique is powered by a 1.2GHz Snapdragon 410 SoC with 1GB of RAM. The device has a 4.7-inch HD display with 8GB of internal storage. There's also an 8MP camera at the back with a front facing 2MP sensor. The phone is 4G enabled and comes with stock Android v5.1.1 and not Cyanogen OS.
