The Sony Xperia X was announced at MWC 2016, and the company is finally bringing it to India. The device runs on a Snapdragon 650 SoC from Qualcomm, and is priced at a whopping Rs. 48,990. The device will be selling in India soon, but here's a first look. You can also read our first impressions of the Xperia X here.
The Sony Xperia X seems to be the new flagship device from Sony for this year, in India. Here is a rundown of the specifications:
Display: 5-inch, 1080p
SoC: Qualcomm Snapdragon 650
RAM: 3GB
Storage: 64GB
Camera: 23MP, 13MP
Battery: 2620mAh
OS: Abdroid 6.0.1
Sony has equipped the phone with a 5-inch display but unlike other OEMs, it hasn't upgraded the display to 2K resolution. Instead the company is sticking with a tried and tested 1080p display, with its Triluminos engine.
Sony has been able to equip a 23MP rear camera without adding a bump on the back. That said, the design language remains pretty much the same as what we saw on the Xperia Z series. There are minor changes, which you may or may not like.
While the Xperia X does support micro-SD expension, it's a hybrid SIM slot. So, you either get dual-SIM capabilities or the SD card support.
The Xperia X has an all metal construction and the phone feels quite sturdy in the hand. It is also worth mentioning that Sony isn't moving to the USB Type-C standard yet.
