HDR is poised to be the next big thing in the TV market, and Sony's offering is the first we get to test. HDR or High-Dynamic Range, means brighter whites, deeper blacks and more natural, life-like colours. While we work on the review, here's a quick look at the Sony KD-55X9300D 4K HDR television.
Sony's TV has 11.75mm bezels, and an excellent stand for placing it upright. You can of course wall mount it if you want as well.
The Sony 4K HDR TV is also a smart TV as it features Google's Android TV interface built-in. It can be connected to the internet via WiFi or directly via ethernet. There are a bunch of other features as well.
The TV also supports voice commands via Google Voice and will let you search for content on the web. The microphone is on the remote itself, and doesn't need you to point the remote at the TV.
Games like Tom Clancy’s Division and Injustice: Gods Among Us were a treat on this TV. The colour reproduction is good and the panel's native refresh rate is 100 Hz, although our graphics card wouldn't allow that much.
The Sony X9300 4K HDR comes with a single remote, which has the Android TV remote built into it. While you'll have to compromise on the touchpad, the remote has dedicate buttons for Netflix and Google Play on them.
The TV comes with an additional webcam which will allow video chatting.
The TV features 4 HDMI ports, 2 composite video inputs, 1 component video input, RF Connection port, ethernet port, 3 x USB inputs, one audio out and one digital audio output.
