Sony just concluded its MWC announcement and launched two new smartphones, Xperia X and XA. Besides these two phones, the company announced a new smart bluetooth headphone called the Xperia Ear. Sony also showcased some new concept products which might become reality soon.

Let’s start with the Sony Xperia X. This is a new mid-range smartphone from the company. It offers a new SoC and a 23MP rear camera. Here is a quick look at the specifications:

Sony also announced a performance version of the X which is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 SoC. The rest of the spec sheet is pretty much the same, though with the battery of slightly bigger at 2700mAh

The phone is quite ergonomic, thanks to its smaller 5-inch display. Above the display, Sony has put a 13MP front-facing camera.

Sony has kept the design minimalistic. The phone is running on Android 6.0 out of the box with Sony’s custom UI on top of it.

The right edge has the power key which also works as a fingerprint sensor. Below that, there is a volume rocker and a dedicated shutter button.

The Xperia X comes 3GB of RAM and 32/64GB storage options. On top of that, the phone also support microSD cards to upto 200GB.

The phone comes with a 23MP rear camera which support PDAF (Phase Detection Autofocus). It is aided by a single LED flash

This is the new Xperia XA smartphone. Sony said, this smartphone is aimed at the premium mid-segment smartphone market. It has a traditional Sony design with its circular power button and a simple candy look.

This is the Xperia Ear. It is a intelligent bluetooth earpiece which responds to verbal commands and will provide the user with important information such as your schedule, weather, or the latest news, on the go. The small device is IPX2 certified and Sony claims will provide all-day battery life.

Sony also, showcased three new concept devices. This is the Xperia Eye. It is smart camera and uses a 360 degree wide spherical lens. It has an intelligent shutter technology which can capture images based on facial and voice detection.

This is the Xperia projector concept. It is a small communicative projector and users will be able to interact with its projections. It will also respond to touch and voice gestures.

Sony also showcased a personal assistant concept called the Xperia Agent. The Agent can also respond to voice and recognises a number of commands. It has a built in camera and a projector display to make the interaction more intuitive for users.
