The Samsung Galaxy Tab S 8.4 comes with an 8.4-inch 2K display (2560x1600) and runs on an Exynos octa core (1.3GHz quad + 1.9GHz quad) with a massive 3GB of RAM and runs on the latest Android 4.4.2 update with Samsung's TouchWiz UI. The Samsung Galaxy Tab S 8.4 was launched in India earlier this month along with the Tab S 10.1. The Tab S 8.4 is priced at Rs. 37,800 in India. It carries the same biometric finger-print reader/sensor as the one found in Samsung Galaxy S5.

The back has the same perforated pattern design which we have seen earlier on the Galaxy S5 although it doesnt feel flimsy or of low quality.

The tablet has a very slim profile and is one of the slimmest tabltes in the market with a thickness of just 6.6mm and weighs at just 298gms. The Tab S directly competes with the iPad Mini Retina in terms of dimensions, form factor and pricing.

The Tab S has nice golden trim around the edges and houses the microUSB, the 3.5mm stereo jack and one of the dual speakers at the bottom (when held in portrait mode)

Samsung has used its traditional two capacitive and one hardware key for the Android navigations buttons and the home key also acts as the fingerprint scanner just like the Galaxy S5

The microSD card, microSIM card, iR port, the volume rocker and the power/lock key are all on the right side leaving the left side empty, in case you plan to attach a dock.

Video playback is smooth and very crisp on the Super AMOLED display, especially when you are playing HD or higher resolution videos. Even the bezels are considerably slim making the overall design quite portable.

Gameplay is very fluid on the Tab S although the 2K display, due to the high resolution, makes certain games look a bit soft.
