The OnePlus 3 is official, and it looks pretty good. The phone also performs well and has a decent camera to boot. You can check out the review to know more. But, if you don’t have time to do that, here’s a quick rundown of all the important info. The OnePlus 3 will sell via Amazon India and is being priced at Rs. 27,999. Also, there will be a single variant of the phone, with 6GB of RAM and 64GB storage.
Here’s a quick look at the official specifications. No leaks and rumours anymore.
SoC: Qualcomm Snapdragon 820
RAM: 6GB
Display: 5.5-inch, 1080p
Storage: 64GB
Camera: 16MP, 8MP
Battery: 3000mAh
OS: Android 6.0.1, with Oxygen OS
The AMOLED panel is quite good to look at. But it’s not plagued with oversaturation, which is a common property of such panels. It has thin bezels, at just 0.75 mm and the display is covered in a 2.5D curved Gorilla Glass 4.
The OnePlus 3 is also quite slim, at 7.35mm. The button layout is a tad different to last year’s flagship, with the alert slider and the volume rocker on the left side. The power button and SIM tray are on the right side.
The single speaker is placed at the bottom, along with the USB type-C port and the standard 3.5mm headphone jack. Yes, OnePlus has equipped the phone with NFC and quick charging capabilities this time.
The OnePlus 3 no longer carries a Sandstone back. It has an HTC-like Metal unibody build and feels good in the hand. It fits the bill for a flagship device, and is quite likeable.
OnePlus chose the 16MP IMX298 sensor from Sony. This is the same sensor that features on the Xiaomi Mi 5 and some other phones. Check the review for the image quality analysis.
The OnePlus 3 comes with Oxygen OS, with Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow, out-of-the-box. While the interface is pretty much the same, OnePlus has added few tweaks, such as adjustable colour balance.
Here are some synthetic benchmarks scores. You can read the complete performance analysis in the review, which will be coming soon!
