The Source 530 is NZXT’s latest addition to their Source line of computer cases. The 530 is the top-end model of the series and is a full-tower. The Source series is known for NZXT is known for being cheaper than the Phantom series of cases from NZXT and hence it brings a lot of value for money offerings. The front of the case is strictly simple and has a meshed grill throughout. Also visible here are the three 5.25” drive bays.
In case you were wondering, the power and reset buttons exist on the right-side bezel of the case. You’ll also see another button right below the power and reset buttons which is for the rear I/O shield LED.
The Source 530 has a dust filter at every air intake area. Seen here is the slide-out dust filter that is installed at the bottom of the case.
The front of the case features two USB 3.0 ports along with a mic jack and a headphone jack.
The rear of the case features a fan mount area which has a 120mm fan installed by default but you can replace it with a 140mm fan as well. There are eight expansion slots at the back. You’ll also see two liquid cooling rubber grommets at the side of the expansion slots.
The main side-panel of the case has a big transparent acrylic window which lets you take a look inside the case.
The top of the Source 530 has a huge grill laden with fan mounting holes. You can install a total of three 120mm fans or two 140mm fans but a 120mm fan comes pre-installed. Instead of fans, you can also install a 360mm water cooling radiator at the top.
The inside of the Source 530 is well designed and it gives a good amount of room to work with. The power supply sits at the bottom of the case and the case has a separate dust-filter for the PSU area too.
The motherboard tray on the Source 530 has a big cut-out for the CPU cooler. There is also a decent amount of space behind the motherboard tray to route cables. It would have been good if NZXT had included rubber grommets to cover the cable routing holes though. You’ll also see that the Source 530 lets you attach an SSD to the back of the motherboard tray. Another interesting add-on is the included fan hub which supports a total of up to 10 fans.
The HDD cages are removable and the drive trays are tool-less. You can install one more fan on the drive cage and the fan mount can be pivoted to face either the GPU area or the CPU area.
The NZXT Source 530 comes with all the screws that you may require when building a system in this case. All the screw packets are labeled according to the screw type as well.
