The Motorola Moto G (3rd Gen) was launched in India yesterday and we've been working on our review for a bit now. But since the full review will take some time, here is quick review of the Moto G (3rd Gen). We have taken a quick look around, run some benchmarks and squeezed in some camera samples from the new 13MP camera. Let's begin.
Before we do that, here are the specs,
SoC: Qualcomm Snapdragon 410
CPU: 1.4Ghz quad-core
RAM: 2GB
Display: 5-inch 720p
Storage: 16GB
Rear camera: 13MP
Front camera: 5MP
Battery: 2470 mAh
Dual-SIM, 4G, microSD card support and IPX7 certified
Holding the phone we noticed it has a slight curve to it, which makes it much more ergonomic than the last Moto G and many others phones in the market at this price.
The back is quite easy to grip and adds to the ergonomics of the phone. Check out the strip at the back with the Moto dimple as well. Motorola seems to be revamping how its logo will be placed on the phone each time around.
The right side of the phone has both the power button and volume rocker. The power button gets a patterned etching, giving it a distinguishing touch and feel.
The phone has a 5-inch HD display and the overall dimensions are pretty much the same as the Moto G (2nd Gen). But thanks to the ergonomic design, it feels somewhat compact.
The display looks good from extreme viewing angles and seems fine for watching videos or browsing.
The front camera is now upgraded and the Moto G (3rd Gen) sports a 5MP camera at the front.
The rear camera also gets an upgrade and is now at 13MP, which is coupled with a dual-tone dual LED flash.
This new phone is waterproof, so we let it soak itself for while in our fish bowl. After 10 minutes we took it out and it worked fine. We will test it further for the full review.
We also ran some synthetic benchmarks, comparing the Moto G (3rd Gen) with the Xiaomi Mi 4i, Asus Zenfone 2, Xiaomi Redmi 2 and its own predecessor, in the Moto G (2nd Gen).
We took some pictures as well with the new 13MP snapper at the back. Here take a look
