Mortal Kombat X: 10 times the gore

The latest game in the Mortal Kombat series has been announced. If you don't count some of the spin offs, then this is actually the 10th instalment of the game. The name Mortal Kombat X though means a lot more than just the number. The new version is bringing new arenas, features, characters and much more. The game will be launched on April 15, 2015 though, which means the wait is long. Here's something to keep you occupied till then.

Mortal Kombat X: 10 times the gore

Arenas

The new Mortal Kombat games will have a number of new arenas that players can choose from. Not only that, arenas will be interactive, meaning you can springboard off a tree or hit your opponent with a branch. You can also throw things from the arena at your opponent.

Characters

Not only that, there will also be a number of new characters that will be introduced in Mortal Kombat X. In fact, this is perhaps the most number of new characters introduced in a version of the game. Also, each character in Mortal Kombat X has different combat modes, which gives them various abilities and varies how they fight.

Raiden

New characters doesn't mean older ones aren't there. The new game has enhanced older characters and their powers. Here's a look at Raiden from Mortal Kombat X.

Kano

Speaking of old characters, Kano is also making an appearance in this game. He is a bit older in MKX, but has a number of cybernetic updates. His fighting modes include Cybernetic, Commando and Cutthroat. Sounds like the best Kano till date doesn't it?

Ferra Torr

Out with the old, in with the new. One of the newest and perhaps most intriguing characters in MKX is Ferra Torr. While being treated as one character, these are actually two characters — Ferra & Torr. Together, it amounts to a huge beast carrying a child on his back. They fight in sync with each other and have some pretty amazing moves.

Cassie Cage

The picture would remind you of one of the old favourites in Sonya Blade. Well, Cassie Cage is Johnny Cage (another favourite) and Sonya Blade's daughter. She wears a tactical suit with the Cage name on its back, has dog tags and combines moves from both her parents. To quote from one of the movies, "this is where you fall down."

Sub Zero

He and Scorpion were part of the opening video for Mortal Kombat X, and why not? They make two of the games most iconic characters, who have also been used in other games. Sub Zero displays a lot of abilities here and is just too cool (pun intended).

Scorpion

You can't talk about MK without talking about Scorpion. In this game Scorpion uses his fire in ways that we've never seen him do before. We can't wait to play with this character, get over here!

X-Ray

Mortal Kombat has always been one of the goriest games ever made. But the new version takes things to a different level with the X-Ray feature. The game slows down in between fights, showing X-Rays of how your move is breaking the opponent's bones or vice versa. It is a little hard to look at sometimes, but that's what MK is all about.

With all that we have seen till now, Mortal Kombat X looks like the best that has been made till date. The more you think about it, the longer April 15 seems to be.
