The Microsoft Band is not a rumour any more. It is official and looks quite promising with its 10 sensors and cross platform compatibility. Here's all that you need to know about it and why it is possibly the best smart wearable right now.
Looks like..
Yes, it does look a lot like the Samsung Gear Fit, Fitbit bands, Nike Fuelband and what not. But it is a smartband, there's only so much difference in terms of the design. The small screen on top shows the time and notifications.
Cross Platform
It works with Android, iOS and Windows smartphones. This is probably the biggest strength of the Microsoft Band right now. Not many smartbands can offer this.
Sensors
10 sensors is a big deal. The Microsoft Band has all the sensors needed to track running, heart rate, sleep and other activities. It shows you the time too, so it is also a smartwatch in a way.
Battery life
With great power comes great responsibility, the 10 sensors will definitely be battery intensive. According to Microsoft, the Band lasts for two full days on a single charge. That's not bad at all.
Microsoft Band Sync
The main app to connect this smartband to your phone will be the Microsoft Band Sync app, which is available on all the major app stores.
Microsoft Health App
With this one Microsoft joins Apple and Google in the race for the best health tracking features. Microsoft Health is available across Google Play, iTunes and Windows Store and is the app that will record all your health data from the Microsoft Band. If it does it right, then Google Fit and Apple Health have every reason to be wary.
Price
It is priced at $199 (Rs. 12,200 approx.), which is right up there with the least expensive smartwatches that you can buy right now. It's less expensive compared to the Moto 360 and Asus Zenwatch and around the same price as the LG G Watch and Samsung Gear Live.
