Meizu Pro 5, the latest flagship from Meizu, is not just about good looks. Going by the spec sheet and by our initial impressions, it is one of the best phones in the market. The phone still awaits an India launch which is due next year, but we had the chance to check out the device. Here's taking a look at the Meizu Pro 5.

With Meizu Pro 5, the company is launching a new phone lineup under the “Pro” name. These phones will feature the best hardware that Meizu has on offer. Here's what makes the components of Meizu Pro 5:

The phone features an all-metal unibody design, with a brushed metal feel at the back, which makes it somewhat slippery.

The right side of the phone has the new, contoured power button and volume rocker. Meizu says that they have improved the feel and travel of both.

The left side has the SIM card tray with two SIM slots. One of the slots is hybrid, and can be used for a microSD card.

The Bottom has the single-sided volume grills and the USB Type-C port. Meizu has employed M-Charge 2.0, which the company claims can charge the phone from 0% to 60% in just 30 minutes.

The 5.7-inch Super AMOLED display has a resolution of 1080p. It offers good viewing angles, and very good contrast ratios.

At the bottom of the display, there is a back and home button, which doubles as a fingerprint sensor. We tested it, and it seemed accurate and fast.

At the back, there is a 21MP camera. Meizu has used the Sony IMX230 sensor, along with including laser-assisted and phase detection autofocus mechanisms.

The phone was showcased in two colours, a darker steel grey, and a lighter aluminum.

The phone runs on Flyme OS v4.5 based on Android v5.1, but Meizu says that the phone will be updated to the new Flyme OS v5.0 by next month. The new ROM brings new icons and animations among other tweaks.

With an Exynos 7420 SoC inside, the phone performs well. We tried the Antutu synthetic benchmark test on the phone, and it scored 75429.
