Meizu's recently-launched m3 Note smartphone has every potential to become one of the best budget smartphones of this year. It holds enough firepower inside, is built well, and also holds the promise of good battery life. However, Meizu's key to seeing its device becoming a success will be in pricing it right when it launches in India next month. Here's looking at the Meizu m3 Note, in more detail.
Here is a look at the specifications of the Meizu m3 Note:
Processor: MediaTek Helio P10 octa-core (MT6755)
GPU: Mali-T860 MP2
RAM: 2GB/3GB
Storage: 16GB/32GB
Display: 5.5-inch, 1080x1920-pixel
Cameras: 13MP (Primary), 5MP (Front)
Battery: 4100mAh
OS: Android v5.1 Lollipop (FlyMe 5.1)
The 5.5-inch LTPS panel display has a resolution of 1080x1920 pixels, and is quite rich and impressive. It seems to have continued on the same line as the m2 Note.
The Helio P10 SoC is an octa-core setup, and the m3 Note seems to be a decently smooth performer, based on it. While its chances of outperforming the Snapdragon 650 remains in question, it may still prove to be a decent performer that sees you through most of its daily tasks.
It is amply bright, and upon first impressions, does not seem to have any colour shifts, which is an excellent factor. The metal unibody construction is quite impressive, and enhances the ergonomics of the device.
The singular button on the front panel acts as a Home and Back button, alongside being a fingerprint scanner. It is one of Meizu's typical additions, and although it works once you get used to it, we are not sure if it is ideal.
The front-facing 5-megapixel camera seems promising for a budget device, and should suffice for your popular Instagram selfies. Meizu has based the m3 Note on FlyMe OS 5.1 based on Android Lollipop, and we'll reserve our judgement on it till the Indian version.
The bottom of the device houses the USB port and the speaker grille, a trademark construction pattern.
The metal panel on the rear is not as slippery as that of the Redmi Note 3, and hence, makes the phone easier to grip. A 4100mAh battery packs resides inside, for which Meizu claims an impressive 17 hours of screen-on time. Going by previous Meizu devices, it may not be completely untrue.
The 13-megapixel primary camera is aided by a dual-tone LED flash, and the initial photographs look decently pleasing. It preserves reasonable amount of colour details. Take a look at the camera samples across the next slides.

Meizu will be aiming to rival the Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 with the Meizu m3 Note, which is presently priced at Rs. 9,999 and Rs. 11,999 for the two variants. If priced correctly, the Meizu m3 Note can prove to be a disruptive smartphone in the highly competitive budget smartphone segment in India.
