We saw many gaming products get unveiled at CES 2015 and from among them, the Mad Catz L.Y.N.X 9 gaming controller caught our eye as it offers portability and connectivity to multiple platforms.
The skeleton of the L.Y.N.X 9 is modular and is made up of three parts. The two grips are detachable and the middle part act as the control centre for the controller which also houses the Bluetooth radios and battery.
The controller can even support 7-inch tablets via a tablet frame. This can easily be done as the controller is modular and can be adjusted as per your screen size requirements.
The L.Y.N.X 9 can be used with both the PC and Android devices, which means you may require a keyboard at some point and thus it comes with an attachable QWERTY keyboard. The controller also includes an on-board mic.
The Bundled app that comes with the controller lets you tinker with it and change the precision and fine-tune the performance. You can make custom adjustments to individual sticks and triggers from the app.
With 30 hours of claimed battery life, it will certainly be a better alternative to other portable controllers in the market. And when you are done playing the controller easily folds up so that you can carry it anywhere.
Bonus:
Mad Catz also announced the R.A.T Pro X at CES 2015 which is the world’s first mouse to feature a modular sensor unit which means that you can swap in the optical sensor of your liking. It comes with three scroll wheels and palm rests which, again, you can adjust to your liking. It even has a magnesium alloy body!
