After achieving success with the Lenovo A6000, the Chinese company is back with another phone. Lenovo launched its much awaited K3 Note at an event in New Delhi today. We had the chance to experience the phone at the event for a short while. So, here is a first look at the device.
At the front, the phone has a 5.5-inch 1080p display. From a design perspective, the phone looks very similar to the Lenovo A7000.
From the initial inspection, the screen quality looks okay. The phone uses an IPS panel similar to the one we have seen on the A6000.
Underneath the display there are three navigation keys which sadly are not backlit. While the touch response felt okay on initial impressions, we will reserve our thoughts until we review the device.
The phone runs Lenovo’s custom UI, Vibe UI v2.5. This is also similar to what we have seen on previous Lenovo phones.
Above the display, the phone has its earpiece and the front-facing camera. Lenovo has equipped the K3 Note with a 3-lens 5MP camera.
The Lenovo K3 Note features a MediaTek 6752 SoC, 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage. You will also notice that underneath the Vibe UI 2.5, the device runs Android Lollipop 5.0
The right edge of the phone has both the power button as well as the volume rocker which felt tactile on use.
At the top, the phone has its microUSB port for power and data as well as a 3.5mm headphone jack.
Turning the phone around, it has a matte back similar to the one we saw earlier on the A6000.
There is a 13MP camera at the back. It comes with dual-LED flash. It can shoot 1080p videos at 30fps.
Here is a test shot from the camera.
The phone’s speaker is placed at a very unorthodox position which might get covered when you hold the phone.
Removing the back cover, one can see the 3000mAh battery which should be enough to power the phone for a day’s worth of usage.
The phone supports dual-SIM slots and also features a microSD slot which can take cards upto 32GB.
