Gaming has seen a good start in 2017 with the first India Gaming Show being held in New Delhi. We were at the event, taking in the sights and sounds. Here's what the you should look out for.
Let's start with the big story. Sony will be launching the PS4 Pro in India, along with the PS VR headset. The PS4 Pro will be available from this month at a price of Rs. 38,990 and the PS VR will go on sale from March for Rs. 37,990.
Samsung was at IGS, with its new curved gaming monitor, which is specially developed for AMD graphics cards with FreeSync. The monitor will be available in 24-inch and 27-inch models and offers refresh rates of 144 Hz and 1ms latency.
Samsung claims it is the most curved monitor in the world, with a radius of 1800mm. The display uses Samsung's Quantum Dot technology, which we saw last year in its high end TVs. The 24-inch and 27-inch models are priced at Rs. 35,000 and 42,000 respectively.
There was also a mixed reality demo on the floor, where you cycle with a VR headset on. It provided the user with the sense of cycling up and down a mountain with the sea on one side.
Asus presented some unique demos. Here is the one of a kind open case, designed for Battlefield aficionados. The company showcased the recently announced TUF Z270 Mark 1 motherboard.
This is the recently announced 4K monitor from Asus. This 27-inch AH-IPS monitor promises 100% sRGB colour gamut and max brightness of 300 cd/m2. Although, it is not really meant for gaming, as it has latency of 5ms.
We also saw a tri-display gaming setup at Asus’ booth. A happy enthusiast is seen here playing Deus Ex: Mankind Divided, which by the way, was looking really good on the setup.
This whole setup was running on this, the ROG GT51CA. This pre-configured PC from Asus packs an overclocked Intel Core i7-6700K, which is paired with not one but two Titan X GPUs. Overkill!
Asus was showcasing its gaming motherboards such as the ROG Rampage edition 10 motherboards, and the Strix 1080 GPUs with water cooling in a custom Corsair 900D cabinet.
Big gaming names are present at the event, with their respective lineup of games, such as Konami with its Pro Evolution soccer.
At the Square Enix booth, one could check out all the new Hitman episodes and more.
Lastly, if you are into cosplay or like Japanese games in general, you should definitely check out the Japan booth.
