After the success of Nexus 6P, Huawei has brought a much more refined smartphone to the Indian market, in the Huawei P9. The Huawei P9 is a flagship smartphone and features all the hardware you may expect from a phone in this league, including a brilliant camera. The design and build of the phone are equally good. Let’s take a look.
The Huawei P9 features a beautiful 5.2-inch 1080p display, using a JDI panel with 424 ppi pixel density. The display has a wide colour gamut, and good viewing angles.
The display is complemented by the good looking aluminum chassis, made using aerospace class aluminum. This makes the device lightweight and quite sturdy at the same time.
The edges of the aluminum chassis are slightly chamfered to offer good grip on the phone and make it comfortable to hold for extended periods. At just 6.95mm, it is quite thin as well.
A smaller display also means a smaller footprint, and the Huawei P9 is just 7.09mm wide, weighing about 144 grams. This makes it quite light, for a phone built completely out of metal and glass.
The dual camera module, which is made in collaboration with Leica, stays flush with the back of the phone and has no annoying humps, like many flagships these days.
The fit and finish of physical keys is top notch, and machines ports and speaker grille look and feel premium. Huawei has given utmost importance to the design and build of the phone, making it one of the most premium devices available today.
