Over the past two quarters, Huawei's efforts in India have been mainly focused on its newly launched Honor series of smartphones, but the company is set to change that. Huawei launched three new smartphones at a launch event held in Bangkok, including the Huawei P8, P8 Lite and Huawei P8 Max. All, or at least two of these devices, will make their way over to India in the third quarter of this year. While we've already given you a first look at the Huawei P8, here's a look at its budget counterpart in the Huawei P8 Lite.

The silver variant of the Huawei P8 Lite looks almost exactly like the P8, but this phone is not as premium. It uses plastic, with a brushed metal-like finish to the body. It is also thicker, but lighter than the Huawei P8.

The Huawei P8 Lite has a 5-inch 720p display, which offers good viewing angles, but isn't the brightest screen out there.

There's a 13MP camera on the back of the Huawei P8 Lite.

The P8 Lite runs on Huawei's 1.2 GHz Kirin 620 octa-core processor coupled with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of storage, which can be expanded via microSD.

The phone runs on Android 5.0.2 aong with EMUI 3.0, same as its flagship sibling.

It seems the extra 1mm thickness on the Huawei P8 Lite allowed the company to fit a Li-Ion battery inside this device, instead of the Li-Po battery on the P8. The battery size is lower though, at 2200 mAh.

The brushed metal finish is much more apparent on the silver variant, as compared to its competitors.

This device is destined to take on the Xiaomi Mi4i and Asus Zenfone 2, which means Huawei needs to get the pricing right in order to guarantee success.
