HTC announced a selfie centric smartphone a few months back and we finally have the slick looking smartphone. The Desire Eye, is definitely priced quite high, but for that you get a brilliant looking design, a fast chip and two 13MP cameras with dual-LED flash units. Here is a closer look at the smartphone...

The Desire Eye features a 5.2-inch full HD display and is powered by a Snapdragon 801 chip with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of expandable memory. The smartphone also features HTC's patented Boom Sound dual speakers which are hidden nicely on either sides of the display.

The main highlight of the smartphone is the 13MP front camera with a dual-tone LED flash and a wide angle lens making the smartphone a selfie centric device.

At the back there is again a 13MP with a dual-tone LED flash. The back is all plastic which has a nice matte finish and feels quite premium.

The handset comes with a neat looking coloured accent around the edge. The bottom edge houses the microUSB port and the microphone.

The accent continues all around and the right edge houses the volume keys, power/lock key and also a camera shutter key.

On the left edge there are two trays, one for the microSD card and one for the nanoSIM. Surprisingly you dont need a pin to pop them out, rather just pull the trays out with your nail.

In the hand, it does feel large when compared to other smartphones with a 5.2-inch display due to the large bezels. However, the overall finish of the smartphone is quite exceptional.
