The Desire 500 has a 1.5Ghz quad core coupled with 1GB RAM. It sports a 4.3-inch (800 x 480 pixels) LCD. It has fairly decent 8MP rear + 1.6MP front cam. The smartphone runs on Android 4.1 and packs in a 1,800mAh battery.
Features a smaller 4.5 inch screen, The screen features an 800x480-pixel model, which was fairly standard for a phone at this price point. It includes Blinkfeed which we came to love Blinkfeed as it gathers your Facebook, Twitter and news updates and provides them in a tile format on one of your homescreens.
The Desire 500 has ony two capacitive buttons and has included an HTC logo in between the keys.
HTC has been setting new standards with its design and the Desire 500 is far from short on that aspect. The overall design is balanced and the weight and dimensions of the smartphone feel just right in the hand.
Features an 8 MP rear shooter which is fairly good. Daylights shots are sharp and renders rich colours, though the shots were clearly over exposed.
In the end, it's a slim and slick looking phone, with reasonalble display, good camera and decent performance and battery backup, though quite overpriced.
