The HP Pavilion 15-bc008TX was launched on Flipkart’s Big Billion Days Sale, today. With its high-end specifications, the device is aimed at gamers. However, you may get confused by the appearance of the laptop. Gaming laptops always look flashy and mean, whereas the Pavilion looks pretty much like a regular office-going laptop. There is more to this, though.
Let’s start with the specifications
Display: 15.6-inch, 1080p
Processor: Intel Core i7-6700HQ
RAM: upto 16GB DDR4-2133MHz
Storage: 128GB M.2 SSD + 1TB
GPU: NVIDIA GeForce GTX960M 4GB
OS: Windows 10
MSRP: Rs. 90,900
Like most high end HP laptops, this one is also equipped with B&O Play software for audio.
As mentioned earlier, the laptop looks much like any other 15.6-inch Pavilion laptop from HP. It has the same rounded edges and has the new digital threading design across the keyboard deck.
It’s a beast on the inside, though. It has an Intel Core i7 HQ processor and a powerful NVIDIA GeForce GTX960M GPU. It’ll run most games with ease, and you may have to tone down the graphics a bit to run the most resource intensive ones.
The laptop features a beautiful 15.6-inch IPS display, with 1920 x 1080p resolution. It has nice viewing angles and the matte finish avoids reflection.
HP has used its typical island style keyboard. It’s good for typing, but gamers may find the key depression a little too light. It is backlit, though.
On the other hand, the touchpad is big and quite smooth to operate. It also supports all Windows 10 gestures.
Above the keyboard is the speakers grille. The laptop is quite loud and music output is decent, but you’ll still need headphones for crisp audio.
On the I/O front, the laptop offers two USB 3.0 ports, one USB 2.0 port, headphone/mic-jack combo, SD card reader, LAN port and a kensington lock port.
HP has also changed the design of its hinge and the new Pavilion laptops have a protruding hinge, with the battery now being non-removable.
Around the back, the laptop has two rubber strips, giving it stability and a lot of air vents to provide ample breathing room for the powerful CPU and GPU.
