Honor’s flagship devices have always been about offering good looking phones that pack a punch, keeping the price point attractive enough for the average consumer. With its latest entrant, the Honor 10, the company is keeping this tradition alive. The device sports an eye-catching design while packing all the features you would expect from a flagship product. Let’s take a quick look at what the phone has to offer.
The most eye-catching feature of the phone has to be the rear panel. The Honor 10 sports what the company calls the ‘Aurora Glass Design’. The phone reflects light differently based on which angle you are looking at it from.
The top left corner of the smartphones features a dual-rear camera setup. The phone uses a 24MP+16MP camera setup at the back. It also offers a large f/1.8 aperture lens, that aims to offer better images in low light conditions.
The Honor 10 harnesses the power of Artificial Intelligence in a variety of ways. Some of them include quicker and more accurate translations as well as improved power management. However, it is reasonable to assume that you would use the phone primarily for the rear camera. Well, Honor has added a dash of AI, letting the camera recognise subjects in the frame and automatically applying the right light settings.
As you would have noticed, the phone comes with a notch on top of the display. This notch helps to maximise screen real estate, while minimizing bezels. The notch houses the sensors, earpiece, as well as the 24MP front facing camera. The front camera is able to take photos that mimic studio lighting.
The phone features a metal frame that features a matte finish. This helps to ensure that the phone doesn’t slip out of your hands. The power and volume controls are located on the right edge of the device, while the SIM card slot is located on the left edge.
The top edge of the phone features the noise cancelling microphones as well as the IR blaster. The blaster is slowly disappearing from most other devices but is offered by the Honor 10. It can be used to control most of the remote controlled devices such as TVs, ACs and more.
The bottom edge of the phone features the USB Type-C port, which is flanked by the 3.5mm headphone jack and the speaker.
The Honor 10 runs EMUI 8.1, which runs on the latest version of Google’s Mobile OS, Android Oreo. This means that the phone comes with features like app shortcuts, Picture-in-Picture mode, battery optimisations and more.
