For those of us who can't afford the Alienware and ROG gaming laptops of the world, have faith. If you can splurge between 50k to 60k, there is still hope for you. Gaming on a budget of up to 60k throws up the following options from Acer, ASUS, Dell, HP and Lenovo. All good machines in their own right. Check them out.
HP Pavilion 15-p045TX (for Rs. 58,790 on Flipkart)
The specs don't lie. From the looks of it, this HP Pavilion laptop sports a beast of a configuration – Intel Core i7 chip, 8GB RAM, 1TB hard drive, and NVIDIA GeForce GT 840M graphics with 2GB DDR3 memory. Enough to tame most games on mid-to-high settings, we reckon.
Dell Inspiron 3542 (for Rs. 58,690 on Flipkart)
This high-performance laptop from Dell sports pretty much the exact same basic configuration of the HP Pavilion laptop in the previous slide. Not for the over-the-top, flamboyant gamer, by any means, but enough to get by if you are willing to live with good (not great) gaming performance on your laptop.
Lenovo Z50-70 (for Rs. 53,650 on Flipkart)
Compared to the previous two Dell and HP laptops, this Lenovo Z50 sports a slightly inferior Intel Core i5 chip, but similar RAM and HDD configuration – 8GB DDR3 and 1TB, respectively. However, it reportedly comes with NVIDIA GeForce GT 840M graphics with double the amount of dedicated memory – 4GB DDR3, compared to only 2GB DDR3 on the previous two laptops. This can make a noticeable impact on gaming performance.
Acer E1-572G (for Rs. 56,105 on Snapdeal)
Another 15-inch high-performance notebook which aims to deliver acceptable gaming performance, even with modern games. How? Because it has an Intel Core i7-4500U chip, 8GB DDR3 RAM, 1TB HDD, and AMD Radeon HD 8750M graphics with 2GB of dedicated DDR3 memory. Don't go by its looks, as long as it churns out the desirable performance.
ASUS X550LD (for Rs. 49,740 on Flipkart)
For the severely cash-stripped, hamstrung gamer looking for a gaming notebook, here's something worth considering at 50k. This 15-inch ASUS notebook has good looks and decent internal hardware – an Intel Core i7 chip, 8GB DDR3 RAM, 1TB HDD, and 2GB DDR3 equipped NVIDIA GeForce 820M graphics. There's no pre-installed Windows on this, but if you get past that hurdle, it will help you frag all your enemies quite well, if you don't expect to game at absolute max settings.
