Videocon unveiled its range of 4K UHD LED TVs here in India, starting from 40-inch to 85-inch panels, all sporting plenty of smart features. Let's take a closer look.
The Videocon 4K UHD LED has a screen resolution of 3840x2160 pixels. And all TVs come with a built-in OS viz. the Android 4.2 operating system. Here's a look at the TV's home screen.
The Videocon 4K UHD LED TV has 3D support (as well as 2D to 3D upscaling) and to view visuals in 3D, all TVs come with four active-shutter 3D glasses (which need to be paired with the TV).
All the features that the Videocon 4K UHD LED TV supports – including 3D visuals, N-screen (which is screen mirroring), gesture control, Intel WiDi, USB 3.0, and 3D games (thanks to the bundled gaming controller).
The Videocon 4K UHD LED TV comes with a very minimalistic remote controller. It has a touch panel, devoid with many buttons, and the remote controller works very well from up to a distance of 5-6 metres.
Another way to interact with the Videocon 4K UHD LED TV is through the bundled gaming controller, which is also used to play games on the television, of course.
Here you can see the N-screen (screen mirroring) feature of the Videocon 4K UHD LED TV in action. Pairing between the smartphone and TV was quick and there was a slight lag between the visual visible on the smartphone versus what was playing on the television screen. Seeking through the video file was quick, though, with barely a hint of perceptible lag.
By embracing the Android 4.2 operating system, the Videocon 4K UHD LED TV unlocks the power of a number of apps (numbering up to 200, specially approved for these televisions), with the promise of more apps to come in the near future.
The Videocon 4K UHD LED TV comes with facial recognition feature that wakes up the TV (with a user profile) as soon as the subject sits in front of the television (and is detected by its 720p HD webcam). No need to turn on the television.
Another much-touted feature of the Videocon 4K UHD LED TV is its gesture support. The TV is capable of recognizing up to 12 different gestures (as is visible in the image alongside), if you're in the mood to chuck the remote controller for a change.
Setting up the gesture control can be a bit of a learning experience on these Videocon 4K UHD LED TVs. The television does everything to help you get where you want through a well-catalogued, on-screen instructions.
