HP announced a bunch of products in India yesterday including a new lightweight laptop, and 8-inch Wiindows tablet with a keyboard-folio case, a 6-inch phablet and mini-desktop PC. Here is a quick look at all the products...
HP Slate6 VoiceTab II
Update to last year's VoiceTab, the VoiceTab II comes with upgraded hardware and includes a Marvell quad-core chip, 1GB of RAM, a 720p 6-inch IPS display and Android 4.4 KitKat.
At the back there is an 8MP camera with an LED flash.
The looks are similar to its predecessor but the Slate6 VoiceTab II feels much more premium.
There has also been an update in the materials, as there is now a metal chassis which makes it more robust. The price of the phablet is Rs. 15,990.
HP Stream 11.6
The Stream 11.6 is the company's offering in the low-end Windows based notebook category. It comes with an Intel Celeron processor (N2840) clocked at 2.16GHz, 2GB RAM and 32GB of eMMC storage.
There is also a microSD card slot and a variety of ports- HDMI 1.4, 1 USB 3.0 port, 1 USB 2.0 and also a SIM card slot for 3G connectivity. The laptop comes pre-loaded with Windows 8.1, Microsoft Office 365 and 1TB of OneDrive cloud storage for one year.
The laptop has a bright coloured uni-body design which looks quite attractive.
There is a full sized keyboard and a trackpad both of which have a nice feel and finish. The price of the Stream 11.6 is Rs.19,990.
HP Pavilion Mini Desktop
A new mini-desktop was also announced which can be configured with an Intel Pentium 3558U processor, 4GB RAM and a 500GB Hard Disk Drive (HDD).
There are a variety of ports including a full sized LAN port, 4 USB ports, 1 HDMI port, 1 Display Port and an AUX port.
Out of the 4 USB ports, 2 are in the front for easy access.
The back has panels to easily allow the dektop to be mounted on the monitor or on the wall. The price for the desktop is Rs. 26,990 (excluding mouse and keyboard)
HP Stream 8 Tablet
Another product in the WIndows line up is the Stream 8 Tablet which features an 8-inch HD display, an Intel Atom Z3735G processor with 1GB of RAM and 32GB of expandable storage, Windows 8.1 and Microsoft Office 365 and 1TB of OneDrive cloud storage for one year.
The back has a standard plastic finish and a 5MP camera.
The Stream 8 also comes with an optional keyboard-folio case.
The case is Bluetooth enabled and expands the productivity of the tablet by adding a manual keyboad. The Stream 8 is priced at Rs. 16,990 and Rs. 3,000 extra for the case.
