Lenovo has introduced new lineups of laptops in India, upgrading its Ideapad and Yoga laptops as well as the Y700 gaming laptop. The upgrade brings newer processors, faster RAM, updated graphics and revised prices, along with Lenovo aiming frequent travelers with sleek builds. Here’s looking at the new laptops in closer detail.
Lenovo Ideapad 310
The Lenovo Ideapad 310 is the entry segment laptop offering of Lenovo’s new lineups. The Ideapad 310 laptop showcased at launch was powered by Intel Core i3-7100U processor, along with 4GB of DDR4 RAM, 1TB HDD, and housed a glossy, 15.6” HD (1366x768-pixel) display. The keyboard felt decently comfortable to type on, although the trackpad felt rather obstructive against free scrolling. Prices for the Lenovo Ideapad 310 begins at Rs. 28,390.
Lenovo Ideapad 510
The Ideapad 510 is identical to the Ideapad 310, but features a more powerful Intel Core i5-7200U processor, Harman-powered audio, a 15.6” Full HD matte display, and most importantly, 4GB of Nvidia GeForce 940MX GDDR3 GPU. The keyboard and trackpad remain similar in terms of feedback, and prices for the Ideapad 510 begin at Rs. 61,690.
Lenovo Ideapad 510s
The Ideapad 510s is sleeker than the Ideapad 510 and brings a touchscreen display, while retaining the rest of the features from the Ideapad 510. The hinge feels quite sturdy, and is aimed at consumers looking for lighter laptops that also offer decent performance. The Ideapad 510s also misses out on the optical drive that is present in the Lenovo Ideapad 510. Prices for the laptop begin at Rs. 51,090, and it comes with AMD Radeon R7 M460 2GB GDDR3 GPU.
Lenovo Ideapad 710s
The Ideapad 710s looks quite impressive. It is built well, has a slim profile and is quite light. The Full HD IPS LCD touch-enabled display seemed to offer good contrast levels, and colours looked fairly sharp on it. The laptop is powered by an Intel Core i7-7500U processor, along with minimum 8GB of DDR4 RAM and a 256GB SSD. The display is flanked by narrow bezels, which make the laptop look quite sleek. Prices for the Ideapad 710s begin at Rs. 73,390.
Lenovo Miix 310
The Miix 310 is a detachable hybrid laptop that runs on Intel Atom processor, along with 4GB DDR3L RAM and 64GB eMMC storage. The 10.1-inch touch-enabled HD display looked decent, although the colours did not look as impressive as on other laptops launched today. While the laptop weighs a little above 1 kilo, the tablet itself weighs about 580 grams. Lenovo is targeting the value-centric youth with the Lenovo Miix 310, and the hybrid is meant for always-connected usage. It can even accept 4G LTE SIM cards for data-only operations, although VoLTE has been left out. Prices begin at Rs. 17,490.
Lenovo Yoga 510
The Yoga 510 comes with a rotatable hinge, and 2GB of AMD R5 M430 GPU. The Lenovo Yoga 510 feels easy to carry, and the response of the touch display felt good. The Yoga 510 was also adept at bright audio playback, and gives the promise of being a good entertainment unit. Prices for this laptop begin at Rs. 40,990.
Lenovo Yoga 710
The Yoga 710 brings higher graphics and processing power to Lenovo’s hybrids, powered by 7th Gen Intel Core i7 processors and standard 8GB of DDR4 RAM. The audio is powered by JBL speakers, and Lenovo claims that the laptop comes with fast charging and about 8 hours of video viewing time. Prices for the Yoga 710 begin at Rs. 85,490.
Lenovo Y700
The most expensive laptop shown by Lenovo today was the upgraded variant of its older Y700 gaming laptop. The new Lenovo Y700 runs on an Intel Core i7-6700HQ processor, along with 16GB of DDR4 RAM, 4GB Nvidia GeForce GTX960M GDDR5 graphics, and presents a 17.3-inch, Full HD IPS LCD display. The laptop is also quite heavy, and the specifications seem to be one generation too old. The new Lenovo Y700 is priced at Rs. 1,28,090.
Lenovo Y700 accessories
To appeal to gamers looking for desktop replacements, Lenovo has bundled gaming accessories like a mechanical keyboard, mechanical mouse and a gaming headset along with the Y700. The accessories would otherwise sell for Rs. 19,500.
Audio enhancements
Across all of its new laptops, Lenovo has provided different grades of audio enhancements. For instance, the Ideapad 310 comes with Dolby-powered audio, while the Ideapad 510 comes with Harman-powered audio. The Ideapad 710, meanwhile, has JBL-powered speakers. These enhancements are aimed at maximising the entertainment experience.
