7 most disappointing games of 2015

Despite 2015 being a great year for gamers with games like Metal Gear Solid V, Witcher 3, Rocket League, Ori and the Blind Forest, and more, there were some blotches, too. This list lists games that made us want to break our controllers, tear our hair out and generally want to kill ourselves (not literally, of course). Here we go.

The Order 1886

The 16:9 aspect ratio throughout the game made no sense, and all the slow walking around was just annoying. The game showed a lot of potential when it was first teased, but alas, the final product didn’t yield the desired outcome.

Evolve

A team of hunters hunting a monster is a great idea, and when you add online play to the mix, the potential is great. So, what went wrong? After the dust of the initial hype and buzz settled, gamers realized that the game was repetitive and there wasn’t enough for the monster or the hunters to do!

Batman: Arkham Knight

The PC release of Batman: Arkham Knight was a disaster, with glitches rendering the game unplayable for a very long time. To add to all this, publishers were aware of the problems and still released the game for PC gamers. Also, the fact that the DLC content of the game has received lacklustre reviews means that we did not get to give a grand farewell that the Arkham Asylum trilogy deserved.

Tony Hawk Pro skater 5

Once the pinnacle of pro skating games, Tony Hawk Pro Skater has lost the charm that made it a genre definer. The game isn’t the worst in the franchise, but it simply lacks the punch it once had.

Need for Speed

Considered as a reboot for the franchise, this game is gorgeous with its graphics and it truly gives you a sense of speed. But, the always-online feature, lacklustre AI and a cheeky story gives it a place on this list.

Battlefield Hardline

Battlefield Hardline’s multiplayer is a lot of fun even if you are a novice player. But, that’s where it ends. The game has an overall dull experience as far as the story is concerned – with an uninteresting protagonist and dumb AI.

WWE 2K16

Despite being a popular franchise, we feel that WWE 2K16 is a lacklustre game, overall. The graphics of the game are underwhelming, the variety of matches has been reduced as compared to its predecessor, and it isn’t a worthy successor to the franchise.

Kojima leaving Konami

Yes, this isn’t a game but is something that can be considered as one of the worst things to happen to gaming since the Infinity Ward-Call of Duty incident. The manner in which Konami has treated Kojima has led to Konami receiving a lot of flak from fans. A lawyer was sent by Konami to Kojima to tell him that he couldn’t attend The Game Awards where MGS V was honoured with two awards. Hideo Kojima is now working on a PS4-exclusive, and there is light at the end of the tunnel, but at the end of the day, this qualifies as one of the worst incidents to happen to the world of gaming.
