A successor to the Vengeance K60, the Vengeance K70 is a mechanical gaming keyboard from Corsair. The keyboard comes packed in a standard cardboard box and the box contents include the keyboard itself along with a detachable wrist rest, a set of extra textured keys for WASD characters and numbers 1-6, a key puller, a quick start guide and a warranty guide.
You can see here that the Vengeance K70 has a nice brushed aluminium front plate and it comes with Cherry MX Red key switches. It’s very easy to remove and replace the keys on the K70 by using the included key puller ring. Optimised for FPS gamers, Corsair includes red coloured and textured keys for the K70 which help you locate the keys using just your fingertips to find the grooves on the keys. You can also see the multimedia keys along with the volume scroller on the far right of the keyboard.
The top part of the Vengeance K70 has a single USB 2.0 port which is powered by a separate cable and thus you can use this port to power any regular USB device. Beside the USB port, you’ll see a switch that allows you to switch between polling rates or go to the BIOS mode.
The Vengeance K70 has a flat bottom but Corsair has included rubber feet on all the corners of the keyboard. The foldable stands are well placed and raise the keyboard quite a bit but these stands don’t have a rubber coating on them.
Corsair has used a thick braided cable for the Vengeance K70 which looks quite durable. This cable separates into two USB 2.0 cables. One cable is for powering the keyboard and the other is for the USB pass-through.
This is how the K70 looks like in the dark. The keyboard uses Red LED backlighting on each key. You can also change the brightness of the backlighting by using the backlight key. The K70 supports different backlight modes and you have an option to light-up only the keys that you require, using key-by-key illumination.
