The contents of the box include the CM Storm Mech keyboard itself, a USB 3.0 power/connector cable for the keyboard, key puller, a small allen key, a quick start leaflet and guide and finally a warranty card. Looking at the keyboard, you’ll notice that it’s pretty huge and looks very good. It has an aluminium plate at the front along with a big wrist rest and a carry handle at the side.
You’re pretty much covered when it comes to connectivity options on the CM Storm Mech. The top bezel of the keyboard has 2 x USB 3.0 ports, a mic and a headphone jack, and finally the power connector port for the keyboard. The power cable of the Storm Mech is detachable and hence it’s pretty handy while carrying the keyboard around.
The Cooler Master Storm Mech uses Cherry MX Blue key switches. However, you have options to buy the keyboard with Brown, Red and Green keys as well. They’ve also included a key puller in the box which is very helpful in case you want to remove the keys. The keyboard comes with five programmable macro keys that are lined one-below-the-other to the left of the keyboard. You can store upto 75 macros in 5 different profiles on the Mech.
This is how the keyboard looks in the dark. As you can see, the Storm Mech is completely backlit with a white glow and you can change its brightness levels. You can also turn off the backlighting if you wish.
The speciality of the aluminium series is the customisability option that it provides. You can remove the front aluminium face-plate of the keyboard using the provided allen key and customise it.
