The weight of the company’s future rests on its shoulders, but the BlackBerry Z10 puts forward a very brave face. The simplicity and minimalism stands out.
One of the rare phones these days that allows access to the battery. Very thin cover, but no risk of breaking. The imprint pattern helps with the grip.
One of the side spines has the volume rocker. We like the balance between the way it sits flush with the rest of the phone, and yet remains very much usable when on a call.
The camera sits on one edge near the top. The big BlackBerry logo is placed in the middle. The camera does get in the way if you aren’t careful while clicking.
The power key sits on the top spine. You will notice the strip of matte black before the display starts. The same theme is there on both sides of the screen, and adds a visual element.
The app drawer with the big icons and the text can be navigated through comfortably. The listing is horizontal, like on an iPhone, but unlike Android which remains confused between vertical and horizontal!
The earpiece stands out because it is one of the rare shiny elements on the device as a whole. The contrast either side with the matte finish and the shiny display glass is interesting.
Sits like a slab of chocolate, or something like that! What we mean to say is – the flat design isn’t boring, and again, minimalism speaks loudly.
