This year at IFA we saw some important launches including the Sony Xperia XZ and the Asus ZenWatch 3. However, the most important announcements were from laptop OEMs, specifically Acer and Lenovo. Click next to know more.
Acer Swift 7
When you think of ultrabooks, Apple’s MacBook comes to mind and the recently reviewed HP Spectre 13 as well. However, Acer has taken a step further and its newly launched Swift 7 laptop boasts a thickness of 9.98mm making it the first laptop to move under the 1cm mark. The 13-inch display on the machine offers a 1920 x 1080p resolution and as on the Spectre, it is a non-touch panel. It tuns on a 7th gen Intel Core i processor and will feature 8GB of RAM.
Acer Spin 7
Acer’s Spin 7 is essentially the convertible variant of the Acer Swift 7. It is 10.98mm thick, merely 0.10mm thicker than the Acer Swift 7. However, in that Acer has packed in a touch screen gorilla glass display in this limited space. The size of the display has also been increased to 14-inches.
Acer Predator 21X
The predator 21X is undoubtedly the most ridiculous gaming laptop to come out this year. For the 21X, The specifications make it a true beast.

It requires two power supplies and has an integrated Tobii eye-tracking camera, which will let you play games using just your eyes. The laptop will be launched in the next year.
Acer Chromebook R13
Acer also introduced the first convertible Chromebook in the world. This 13.3-inch device has a 360 degree hinge that lets you use the laptop in different modes such as laptop, tent and even as a tablet. It is powered by a MediaTek M8173 quad-core SoC and has 4GB of RAM. It will be available in 16, 32 and 64GB of storage. There are has dual speakers up front and the company claims 12 hours of battery life.
Lenovo Yoga Book
Lenovo’s new Yoga Book tries to fill the gap between a laptop and a notebook with a new innovative keyboard, which is actually a touch responsive display. You can write on it, draw on it and it will get digitized on the go. The Yoga Book is available with two OS options, WIndows and Android. It has a 10.1-inch full HD display and Dolby Atmos enabled speakers. Made out of aluminum and Magnesium and weighing just 1.1Kg , this laptop is quite ergonomic as well.
Lenovo Yoga 910
The Yoga 910 is the successor to last year’s Yoga 900. The new laptop looks better than last year’s model with its edge to edge display, similar to the one we have seen on the Dell XPS. The 13.9-inch IPS panel on the laptop boasts a 3840 x 2160p resolution. It is powered by an Intel Core i processor and can be specced up to Core i7. The Yoga 910 has 16GB of RAM and 1TB PCIe based SSD storage. Lenovo claims 9 hours of battery life and it weights just 1.38 kg.
Lenovo Miix 510
The Miix 510 from Lenovo is in some ways reminiscent of the Miix 700, which was re-launched earlier this year. The Miix 510 is a powerful beast, though. The top variant of the Miix 510 is powered by a 6th gen Intel Core i7 processor. It features up to 8GB of RAM and a 1TB PCIe-based SSD. It has a 12.2-inch display with a 1920 x 1200p resolution and Lenovo claims it'll deliver up to 8 hours of battery life. The tablet is also LTE enabled for Internet on the go.
