Currently, if you are planning to buy an affordable 7-inch tablet, you will be confused by the number of tablets that are available in the market. Among these, the Asus Fonepad 7 tablets stand tall with their good design and equally reliable performance. Here is a quick look at both.
This is the Asus FonePad 7 FE170CG. Available around the 8K price mark, this tablet brings a new and much improved design to the table. It has a textured back to make it much more easy to grip.
The front carries a (you guessed it) 7-inch display with a resolution of 1024 x 600 pixels
There is a 2MP rear camera which can record 720p HD videos.
The tablet has dual-SIM slots and supports a microSD card as well up to 64GB. All these slots are located on the left side of the tablet.
The other Fonepad looks even better and offers a better spec sheet as well. This is the FE171CG which comes with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage. There is slight difference in the cost as well, as this tablet costs around Rs. 10,000.
The FE171CG offers a much better looking design with upgraded memory and storage and can be easily held with one hand. However, the screen size and resolution remains the same as the previous tablet.
The right side of the display has both the power and the volume rocker keys. One can also find the dual SIM slots hidden under the flap on the left side just like the one we saw earlier on the FE170CG.
On the left side there is a microSD card slot as well and the back of the tablet features a soft touch finish which gives the tablet a nice grip
There is an 8MP camera at the back as well which offers autofocus and 1080p video recording.
Both tablets are powered by a Intel Atom Z2520 processor which takes care of the performance. The processor which has a base frequency of 1.2GHz and has two hyper-threaded cores with four threads. It is powerful enough to take care of day to day tasks as well as demanding tasks.
The Asus Fonepad 7 tablets are running Asus’s custom ZenUI which is intuitive and offers useful pre-installed apps like Do it later and SuperNote which lets you manage tasks and add quick notes on the go.
