With the much awaited launch of Android One phones, the market is buzzing with queries and reviews of the devices. The three phones Micromax A1, Spice Dream Uno and the Karbonn Sparkle V are not that exciting in the hardware division, instead where they shine is the OS part. But what if you are looking for Android One alternatives? Here are your best choices.

Xiaomi Redmi 1S
Price: Rs. 5,999

The Xiaomi fever gripped Indian tech enthusiasts like dengue and the phones were infact exemplary. The Redmi 1S from Xiaomi is one that stands out in the crowd of MediaTek powered devices. The 6K budget phone from Xiaomi beats all odds and comes with a Snapdragon processor, a gig of RAM and an HD screen. If you are going for budget phones, you should consider this. The only problem being that Xiaomi phones are hard to get.

Motorola Moto E
Price: Rs. 6,999

The old and trusty Motorola is here to help with its budget friendly offering. The Moto E did not get that big a response like its elder brother Moto G but the phone is no slouch. In day to day work the Motorola Moto E performs quite well. Build quality and calling abilities have always been the plus points of Motorola and they are present here as well.

Asus Zenfone 4

Though Asus has been trying to come into the mobile market for quite some time, Asus did make a giant leap in terms of popularity and sales with its Zenfone 5. The Zenfone 4 brings a small performance drop from the Zenfone 5 to the competition with the same good looking and intuitive UI. The Intel powered phone is a decent performer and won’t keep you waiting while opening apps or multitasking.

The Micromax Unite 2 brings a 4.7 inch display to the table on which you can watch videos with ease. The Unite 2 is powered by a quad-core MediaTek SoC combined with 1GB of RAM wrapped in nicely built chassis. The 5MP camera at its back is a decent performer and can capture videos in 1080p.

Lava Iris X1
Price: Rs. 7,500 (approx)

The Lava Iris X1 is a beautifully designed phone. Lava has taken design cues from Apple’s iPhone 4s and the Iris X1 does look like one. The 8MP camera at the back is one of the best we have seen in the category. The phone also offers a 2MP front facing camera for video calls and selfies.
