Its that time of the year again where smartphone manufacturers come with all new flagship smartphones. MWC is just around the corner and we collate all the major rumors we have about these upcoming flagship devices. Let’s take a look at what is about to come in the year 2015.
Sony Xperia Z4
Sony will be announcing a new Xperia flagship smartphone in the coming few months. Since the Xperia Z1, there hasn’t been a promising change in the upgrades but if rumours are to be believed there might be brand new feature that could be interesting. Expected specs include a Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 SoC, with 4GB of RAM, 32GB of storage, Cat.6 LTE connectivity, Bluetooth 4.1, a dedicated sound amplifier on board and best of all, wireless charging. There has also been news that Sony will finally remove the flap from the microUSB port.
Sony Xperia Z4 (continued)
The display is said to remain the same with a 5.2-inch dimension, but there have been leaks saying that there will be two versions. One with a FHD (1080p) resolution and one with a QHD (1440p). The bezels are also said to go slimmer making it smaller than the Xperia Z3 in overall size.
LG G4
LG has never made it big with their flagship smartphones although they do have some of the most interesting smartphones. There hasn’t been a lot of information leaked about the G4 but it a recent benchmark leak points out that the G4 will run on a Snapdragon 810 SoC, 4GB RAM, 5.3 inch 2K OLED display and similar rear volume/shutter release buttons.
LG G4 (continued)
The G4 is also expected to come with Android Lollipop and the UI will look similar to the what we saw on the recently announced LG G Flex 2.
OnePlus Two
The Oneplus One was sold as an invite only product and getting one today is still very frustrating. However, it still made its presence felt with its top of the line specs and a striking price point. The next version from OnePlus the OnePlus Two is rumored to be running on a Qualcomm Snapdragon 810, 4GB of RAM, 5.5-inch 2K display and a 3300mAh battery. Most importantly OnePlus will be launching this phone with its own ROM based on Android lollipop. The phone is expected to come later this year and will surely mix up things with its flagship like specs and mid-range smartphone like price.
HTC M9 (Hima)
Leaked by various sources and reported extensively, the HTC One M9 codenamed Hima is expected to continue the beautifull all aluminium unibody design. The smartphone will also continue its front facing BoomSound speakers and a 1080p 5-inch display.
HTC M9 (Hima) (continued)
The smartphone is rumored to ditch the rear Ultrapixel camera for a regular 20MP camera. But wait, the Ultrapixel is not dead and HTC is rumored to put its Ultrapixel camera on the front of this smartphone.
HTC M9 (Hima) (continued)
The M9 is reported to be running on a Qualcomm Snapdragon 810, and 3GB of RAM. The phone is supposed to have a 32GB on-board storage which would be upgradable via a microSD card. The smartphone is expected to come with a large battery, somewhere around 3000mAh.
Samsung Galaxy S6
Samsung has always a top of the line spec list for its flagship phones and the Galaxy S6 will be no different. The Samsung S6 is rumored to have a Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 but Samsung could just go with its Exynos 7420 SoC since early reports suggest Snapdragon 810 has heating issues. With either of those 64-bit processors on-board, we might see a 4GB RAM in the Galaxy S6.
Samsung Galaxy S6 (continued)
It is pretty safe to say that the Galaxy S6 will carry a metal build quality we saw on the Galaxy Alpha and the Note 4, but we are not sure whether it would have a unibody metal frame or just the metal trim. Samsung may also include a 2K display to the smartphone and more importantly the same 16MP camera with OIS, the one we saw on the Note 4.
Xiaomi Mi5
The newest flagship smartphone from the Chinese giant Xiaomi is also expected to arrive this year. the new smartphone is expected to super-thin bezels and a striking design. The specs of the smartphone could include a 5.7 inch Quad-HD display along with a 64-bit Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 SoC with 2GB of RAM and a new 20.7 MP shooter.
