An army of hyperlocal apps have started flooding the market, and they are offering an immense number of services. Need groceries delivered at your doorstep? Need your TV repaired? Looking for the best deals at retail outlets? All these hurdles are being tackled through these apps. Among the many, let’s have a look at the apps you should install in your phone right away.
Haptik
If you want to reap the benefits of technology or want to be plain lazy in procuring information on local services or getting things delivered to you, use Haptik. You can order food, recharge your phone, get the best deals for products, book movie tickets; the possibilities are endless. When they mention Personal Assistant with their name, they truly stick by it, and they let you set reminders and alarms as well.

Zomato Order
Zomato is a great place to discover restaurants and food joints all across the world, and to take advantage of their vast network and database, they had launched their own food delivery service called Zomato Order. It’s a standalone app which is a good thing to keep delivery and discovery a separate entity within the company. The ordering app obviously has a limitless list of restaurants, even obscure ones listed and the filters make it easier to compartmentalise your choices. One really good feature here lets you search items in the menus so, say, you’re looking for a dish with chicken, you can enter it into the search field and all the dishes with chicken will be displayed.

Pluss
Having medicines delivered at your doorstep is incredibly convenient for elderly people. With a few taps, you can send prescribed medicines to your parents or grandparents from anywhere in the world. Pluss lets you upload prescriptions and order the desired medicines. Along with medicines, you can order pet care products, daily essentials, baby care etc and also you can search for places conducting lab tests such as Anaemia, Malaria Antigen, Kidney Stone analysis etc. This service is yet to expand to other cities (currently available only in New Delhi) but it does look promising.

Grofers
Primarily meant to deliver groceries right at your doorstep, Grofers delivers you other products including cosmetics, cakes, baby food, frozen foods etc. Surprisingly, deliveries for all products and categories were closed down even at a busy time of around 8:30 pm across different locations around the city. Not quite a flexible when it comes to deliveries. But the catalog is vast and you'll be self-sufficient and might not even need to step out of the house for groceries or any kind of food items.

Little
While we talk about hyperlocal apps, we can’t ignore the ones that give the best shopping deals from local retail stores. There are again many apps offering this service by listing down popular offline stores nearby and making you eligible for exclusive discounts. An app called Little is doing a great job in listing down a huge number of retail stores and throwing attractive deals for restaurants, movies, hotels and fitness centres. The way Little works is you first buy the vouchers listed in the app and when you’re at the physical store, you can redeem the code to the store owner to avail a discount.

Parcelled
Delivering a package to someone is easy but you would still have to drop off the package at the delivery service. Parcelled is trying to away this one pain point among others, to get items picked up and delivered at desired locations. The app offers same-day delivery as well which is obviously within the city. The app isn’t complicated at all, and you get to pick between three delivery time options of Standard, Express and Rush. The delivery charges change according to the item you choose, obviously, and the rates are pre-defined. This module might be buggy, for example, we found the rate of delivering a book and mobile together to be the same cost as delivering just a single book.
