VERDICT:

To sum it all up, the Realme P3 Pro turned out to be a solid gaming phone under Rs 25,000 as there are no major flaws in its performance and it scored well on most of our tests. However, if you are looking for an all-rounder smartphone then you can probably look at other options like Nothing Phone 2a or Poco X6. As for the P3 Pro – it is solely made for gaming. This also means the UI, camera and durability aren’t particularly impressive.

Realme P3 Pro Review: Realme launched the GT 7 Pro (review) a couple of months back, and it was a highly performance-centric phone with great benchmark scores and performance. Now, the company has launched yet another smartphone focused on performance – the Realme P3 Pro. However, this one is priced much below the GT 7 Pro. The P3 Pro has been launched in India at Rs 23,999, especially for gamers who are looking for a gaming smartphone on a budget. But at that price point, can it deliver the performance that you need for extreme gaming? I put the smartphone through Digit’s extensive testing to find out. Read along to understand why you should or should not buy the Realme P3 Pro.

Realme P3 Pro Performance Test

Since this is a performance-centric phone, let’s start with performance first. I ran a couple of benchmark tests on this phone. On AnTuTu, the Realme P3 Pro was one of the highest-scoring smartphones in the segment with a score of 800,000. This is a pretty impressive score for a phone at this price point.

Similarly, on the Geekbench 6 test, the Realme P3 Pro outperformed its competitors.

To test its thermal performance and stability, I ran the CPU throttling test and the results were again impressive. The Realme P3 Pro maintained strong performance throughout the stress test.

Along with performance, I also tested its gaming capabilities. The Realme P3 Pro supports 90 FPS in BGMI, delivering smooth gameplay with minimal input lag and better hit registration. I played a couple of games and I can confidently say that it provides a solid gaming performance in its segment.

Realme UI 6.0 Could Be Better

Where the Realme P3 Pro lags, is on the software front and there’s definitely some room for improvement here.  While Realme UI 6.0 runs on the latest Android 15 and includes Gemini integration, the excessive bloatware distracts from the overall user experience. Without these pre-installed apps, the P3 Pro would have offered a more premium feel.

Looks Normal, But There’s Something Special

My review unit is in the Nebula Glow variant and while it looks like a regular phone when you first look at it, it has a pretty unique trick up its sleeve. When you expose the back panel to UV light in a dark room, the back panel lights up with a stunning glow effect. It’s Mind-blowing – but is it useful? I don’t think so. The feature is exclusive to the Nebula Glow variant of the Realme P3 Pro.

On the durability front, the Realme P3 Pro offers an IP69 rating but it lacks physical protection against drops. There’s no reinforced glass or protective coating on either the front or the back.

The back panel comes in two finishes: plastic for most variants and vegan leather for the Saturn Brown model. The side frame features a plastic construction with a metallic finish. While the phone includes stereo speakers, their audio quality is mediocre. For gaming, especially BGMI, you’ll want to use earbuds for better sound positioning.

Battery. Check.

All the great performance chops that we discussed earlier, are backed by a good battery life on the Realme P3 Pro. The phone packs a 6,000mAh battery with 80W fast charging support.

A 30-minute BGMI match consumed only 6-7% of the battery. Apart from this, I also drained the battery from 85% to 20% and it took 17 hours and 10 minutes to do that. So, as far as the battery is concerned, the Realme P3 Pro won’t disappoint you.

Display Looks Nice, But There’s Room For Improvement

The display offers sharp resolution with excellent detail clarity and accurate colour reproduction. While it features a 120Hz refresh rate panel. The scrolling is smooth, but coming from Galaxy S25, I did feel occasional stutters and micro-lags during regular use.

While testing its brightness, the Realme P3 Pro recorded around 1800 nits, while Realme says that the peak brightness of this device is 1500 nits. This is a good surprise, and I am not complaining. The phone feels bright enough in harsh sunlight as well, so outdoor usage isn’t a problem.

Not a Camera Phone, But Okay…

The camera section makes it to the end of my review because the Realme P3 Pro is a gaming-centric phone and photography isn’t a major forte. That said, under good lighting, the Realme P3 Pro captures vibrant photos. They are colourful, and slightly overexposed, but with good detail retention.

There’s also a 2MP depth sensor, which takes decent portraits at 2x zoom. Though 1x portraits aren’t as good and there’s a bit of smoothening as well.

However, there’s no ultrawide lens, so that’s a compromise. On the plus side, the front camera seems decent for the price.

So, How’s The Realme P3 Pro?

To sum it all up, the Realme P3 Pro turned out to be a solid gaming phone under Rs 25,000 as there are no major flaws in its performance and it scored well on most of our tests. However, if you are looking for an all-rounder smartphone then you can probably look at other options like Nothing Phone 2a (review) or Poco X7. As for the P3 Pro – it is solely made for gaming. This also means the UI, camera and durability aren’t particularly impressive.
