AMD Ryzen 9 7900X is a top-of-the-line desktop processor from the AMD Ryzen 7000 family featuring the latest AMD Zen 4 microarchitecture. It has 12-Cores / 24-Threads and comes with a base clock of 4.7 GHz and a boost clock of up to 5.6 GHz. It has an L1 Cache of 768 KB, L2 Cache of 12 MB and the L3 Cache is of 64MB. The AMD Ryzen 9 7900X is built using TSMC 5nm FinFET process and has a TDP of 170W. Also, the AMD Ryzen 7000 family gets DDR5 memory support.
The AMD Ryzen 7000 desktop processors debuts with the new AMD AM5 socket which is an LGA socket instead of a PGA socket such as the AM4. This means that none of the previous AMD processors before the 7000 series are physically compatible with the new AM5 motherboards. Supported chipsets include AMD X670E, X670, B650E and B650.
Unlike previous mainstream desktop processors, all AMD Ryzen 7000 processors have inbuilt AMD Radeon Graphics and the Ryzen 9 7900X, in particular, features two AMD Radeon Graphics Cores with a base clock of 400 MHz and 2200 MHz as the boost clock speed.
The AMD Ryzen 9 7900X launched with a price of $549 and its price in India is expected to be INR 53,000. Official prices are yet to be announced.
