Xiaomi Mi VR Play's design will resonate with anyone who has used a Tupperware before

Xiaomi has announced the availability of its Mi VR Play – virtual reality headset in India. Mi VR Play is the first virtual reality headset from the Chinese smartphone maker and it relies on Google Cardboard platform for delivering an immersive VR content experience.

Xiaomi Mi VR Play's design will resonate with anyone who has used a Tupperware before. The VR headset features an interesting two-way zip design with use of lightweight lycra material for long lasting comfort. Xiaomi says it is addressing the question of user comfort with its new VR headset. Mi VR Play can support smartphones with screen sizes varying from 4.7-inches to 5.7-inches.

Xiaomi's Mi VR Play is an entry-level product and it costs just Rs 999. Xiaomi Mi VR Play is certified to work with Google Cardboard apps, which offers plethora of content with YouTube being the best app with great VR offerings.

Xiaomi is also introducing its own live streaming app called Mi Live. The Mi Live is the first live streaming app in India to support VR live stream. With Mi Live, Xiaomi is expanding its internet ecosystem where it already dominates with its MIUI.

Xiaomi Mi VR Play headset goes on sale from 12 noon on December 21 and will be available on company's website. The Mi Live app is available for download from the Google Play Store
