Xiaomi could be working on a new wearable device.

This new wearable device is expected to alert users whenever they are being secretly photographed.

It is unclear whether the user can precisely determine the location of the shooting device.

Concerns about privacy have reached new heights in our technology-driven world, with the constant threat of unauthorised surveillance and hidden cameras capturing moments without our knowledge. Well, Xiaomi seems to be addressing these concerns. According to a new report, the company could be working on a wearable device designed to alert users whenever they are being secretly photographed. The specifics and method involve figuring out the shooting device’s angle of view and gathering environmental image data via a camera device.

According to Gizmochina, Xiaomi Mobile Software Co. Ltd has obtained a patent for anti-peep prompt methods, devices, electronic equipment and storage media.

Let’s see how the wearable device is expected to work. Upon detecting that the user is within the shooting range determined by the shooting angle, the system will likely issue an anti-peep prompt through the connected wearable device. This prompt is expected to help safeguard the user from potential unauthorised surveillance by secret cameras or other capturing devices.

As per the patent, the wearable device activates the anti-peep function only when equipped with an integrated camera. However, it is still unclear whether the user will be able to precisely determine the location of the shooting device.

This uncertainty poses a challenge to the user’s ability to effectively respond to the anti-peep prompt by strategically moving out of the shooting device’s range.

According to the report, the company is expected to launch a new lineup of wearable devices that would support the anti-peep function.
