Withings is back from the dead. The company, which had a tumultuous few years has launched a new wearable called the Steel HR Sport. The wearable is priced at $199.95, which is roughly Rs 14,500. The hybrid smartwatch features a heart rate monitor, multi-sport tracking, GPS, and a ‘Fitness Level Assessment; via VO2 Max estimation. Other features of the wearable includes water resistance for up to 50m, a long-life battery of up to 25 days and a stainless steel case. It also offers sleep tracking and alerts for calls, texts, email, calendar, and more. The small OLED display on the watch face is able to display smart notifications from apps.

In its official blog, the company notes, “Steel HR Sport has the classic Withings analog face that shows the time, as well as a sub-dial that shows the percentage of daily activity goals achieved. You can set and manage goals within the free Health Mate app, available for iOS or Android. The device’s discrete OLED display shows important health and sports data such as daily steps, calories, distance and heart rate and can be navigated with a push of a button. The display also shows smartphone notifications, which appear automatically along with a discreet vibration.”

To recall, Withings was purchased by Nokia back in 2016 for $191 million. The same year, Nokia brought the company’s range of connected devices to India. This included activity trackers, Wi-Fi scales, blood pressure monitors and more. However, by 2018, it was reported that Nokia was selling the company back to original Co-Founder Éric Carreel.
