LG unveiled its latest smartwatch, the LG Watch Urbane, today in Seoul. The elegant looking premium smartwatch will be showcased at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2015 which will take place next month in Barcelona, Spain.
LG’s Watch Urbane shares its DNA with the G Watch R, which was launched late last year. It uses the same 1.3-inch Plastic OLED display with a 320 x 320p resolution housed in a round frame. The watch is powered by a 1.2 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 SoC combined with 512MB of RAM. The watch comes with 4GB of internal storage and runs on Android Wear OS.
The smartwatch also has the same 410mAh battery and comes with IP67 certification. What makes the new Watch Urbane different is its design and build quality. It offers narrower screen bezels and a stainless steel body. The smartwatch is designed to look more like a regular luxury timepiece and will be available with a gold or silver finish. LG has also added a natural leather strap to the mix to make the smartwatch feel more like a regular watch.
“The LG Watch Urbane’s classic design and smart features make it the perfect smartwatch to complement our G Watch and G Watch R, which were designed as more casual and active devices,” said President and CEO of LG Electronics and Mobile Communications, Juno Cho at the unveil event.
