Samsung was one of the first entrants in the wearable segment and has launched a slew of smartwatches in the market. Now, reports suggest the Korean giant is planning to introduce a new smartwatch with its homegrown Tizen OS and a round design like Moto 360 and LG's G Watch R.
According to reports, the round Samsung smartwatch may release at MWC 2015. The new gadget is codenamed “Orbis” and may feature a rotating ring design that allows you rotate the bezel to pull up some tricks. The watch is rumored to run on Tizen OS and not Android wear. Aside from the new design, little else is known about the upcoming round Samsung smartwatch.
Samsung has been trying to turn to Tizen OS for some time, over Android. It has also announced a new range of smartphones running Tizen OS and is also planning to unveil a new range of Tizen OS Smart TV's at the CES 2015. However it still remains to be seen whether people will queue up for Samsung's Tizen OS smartwatch specially if people already own smartphones running Android OS.
According to reports, Samsung is planning to launch the Tizen OS based Z1 smartphone in India on 18th Jan. The Samsung Z1 is expected to have a 4-inch display with 480 x 800 pixels resolution, a dual-core 1.2 GHz processor and a 3.2MP rear camera.
