Samsung may launch Gear Fit 2 wearable, IconX earbuds on June 2
The company has sent out invites for an event in New York City, where it is expected to launch the two devices tomorrow.
Samsung has sent out invites for an event on June 2, tomorrow, in New York City. The invitation does not mention any details of the product(s) being unveiled, but states of an experience of “how Samsung’s devices work together to create a Galaxy of possibility.” It is speculated that the company may launch the Gear Fit 2 wearable and a pair of Bluetooth earbuds called the Gear IconX.
According to a report by Sammobile, the Samsung Gear Fit 2 may feature a 1.55-inch curved Super AMOLED display with a resolution of 216×432 pixels. The device might be powered by Samsung’s own 1GHz dual-core processor with 512MB storage. It is tipped to come with 2GB of onboard storage and a 200mAh battery. The device is expected to run on Tizen 2.3, and may sport a heart rate sensor, gyroscope, barometer and accelerometer.
Last month, VentureBeat claimed to have procured images of not only the Gear Fit 2, but also the Gear IconX. As per their report, the Gear IconX earbuds are dust- and water-resistant, and are touch-controlled. Further, one of the ear buds is tipped to offer 4GB of internal storage, and may allow the device to act as a standalone digital music player.
