The market is filled with some really good smartwatches for Android users and Samsung definitely has a few attractive options to choose from. So, to level up their game Samsung is all set to launch a new feature in the Samsung Galaxy Watch 5 and Galaxy Watch 5 Pro.
What's different about it? Well it's something very useful for the ladies, especially related to menstruation cycle. The Galaxy Watch 5 and Watch 5 Pro enables skin temperature measurement for correct prediction of the menstrual cycle. So, you know what phase of your cycle is going on and can keep yourself prepared for that time of the month.
So, the Samsung Galaxy Watch 5 and Galaxy Watch 5 Pro first measure the skin temperature. Then there's the Cycle Tracking feature. Here the skin temperature measurement is fed. This process results in a better utilisation of the infrared temperature sensor installed in the watch.
The temperature sensor that tracks the skin temperature changes help to forecast the entire menstruation cycle from ovulation to bleeding days. Also, one plus point is, as the sensor uses infrared tech, it gives you the accurate data irrespective of any factors like temperature change in the user's surroundings etc.
Samsung has given confirmation that the Cycle Tracking feature has been registered with the FDA. The Skin Temperature-base cycle tracking is already present in the Samsung Health App for the watch users in the UK, USA and certain markets of Europe. No doubt Samsung can already smell success.
Something to be kept in mind is that Samsung will never present the temperature data or any raw readings. This remains so for a lot of smartwatches. So, as this data is not presented, hence the user is provided with a graph which shows the temperature ups and downs through the day or the week or month.
This raw data is not provided to the user because it might mislead people to think it is the same as clinical thermometer readings. Hence, this reading cannot be relied on for medical purposes.
It’s important to remember that these smartwatches and smart fitness trackers are only meant to track what they are meant for, which in this case happens to be the accurate bodily changes over a span of time which helps in making the correct prediction for your menstrual cycle.
