Oppo teases the first look of its upcoming smartwatch
Oppo Vice President, Brian Shen has shared the first official image of the Oppo smartwatch.
The Oppo smartwatch is tipped to come with ECG support.
It is expected to launch in the first quarter of 2020.
Oppo’s smartwatch was first teased during Oppo’s Inno Day back in December. It talked about topics such as it's plans for 5G, its breakthrough technologies, and future devices such as smartwatches, smart earbuds, and even the announcement of AR glasses. Now, a company official has shared live images of the smartwatch.
The Oppo Vice President, Brian Shen has taken to Chinese social media platform Weibo to share the first image of the company’s upcoming smartwatch. The wearable will have a square screen with curved edges and two buttons on the side. The official has refrained from giving out details regarding the name of the Oppo smartwatch or its key specs and features. However, he does note that the smartwatch will sport a flexible display with curved edges. The device can be seen sporting metal edges in gold and a cream silicone strap. Shen says it could possibly be the ‘best looking smartwatch to launch this year'.
While the Oppo smartwatch bears strong resemblance to the Apple Watch, instead of one crown, it has two keys with a hole in between them. It could be a microphone, which could let users talk to their Oppo smartwatch without needing the smartphone. The wearable device is rumoured to come with ECG support.
At Inno Day, the company showed a teaser for the upcoming smartwatch and smart true wireless earphone, which revealed a square display for the watch. On the other hand, the truly wireless earphones resembled the Apple Airpods. Both these devices are scheduled to launch in Q1 2020.
