iMCO Watch with Amazon Alexa now available in India at Rs 14,900

iMCO Watch, touted as the first smartwatch to be integrated with Amazon’s digital assistant, Alexa is now available in India. The device is currently available on Yerha.com at price of Rs 14,900. As per the listing, the watch will be able to hear the news, get weather updates, check traffic, order food, control IoT devices and more. However, it should be noted that Amazon hasn’t officially launched the service in India yet.

The iMCO Watch features a round display and is compatible with iOS and Android. While the The device uses Cronologics OS, which the company claims is built by those who have worked with Google and Android. The watch offers customisable bands and watch faces, and can show notifications as well. It also comes pre-loaded with apps like IFTTT, pedometer, calendar, speed dial and more. 

As mentioned before, Amazon hasn’t officially launched Alexa in India, however recent reports suggest that the company may do so by the end of the year. According to reports, the speakers would initially only offer an English interface, and will later be updated to respond to regional Indian languages like Hindi, Tamil and Marathi. It was also onted that the company is developing a multilingual interface at Amazon’s Chennai facility. However, it is not yet known if the company will launch its entire portfolio of devices in one go. The report also said that Amazon has distributed its Echo speakers to select company executives for testing. Those testing it said that while there is a barrier to Alexa’s capabilities such as purchasing groceries or booking a cab, users can use it to draft emails, send text, play music or movies on Amazon Prime Video and make purchases on Amazon.
