They’re showing off new things, like gadgets and technologies, capturing everyone’s attention from around the globe. At MWC 2024, Samsung unveiled the prototype of its Galaxy Ring which features multiple sensors capable of tracking various health markers, including the wearer’s heart rate. This initiative aligns with Samsung’s broader push towards improving health-related technologies. Now, Honor is preparing to join the smart ring trend.

Honor CEO George Zhao told CNBC at MWC 2024 that the company is working on its own smart ring.

“Internally, we have this kind of solution, now we are working on that part, so in the future you can have the Honor ring,” Honor CEO said.

Zhao only revealed minimal information about Honor’s upcoming smart ring, emphasising its connection to the company’s broader focus on health.

By introducing a smart ring, Honor might aim to expand its product range and integrate it with its health app, akin to Samsung’s strategy. Zhao even emphasised the importance of artificial intelligence in delivering enhanced health insights to users.

“This hardware capability will work together with AI-enabled apps (and) can help you make the professional training course tailored for you because they studied your habits and health data to give you professional suggestions,” Zhao said.

Honor CEO further stated, “I think AI will transform this kind of applications.”

When exactly Honor will launch its smart ring is still unknown.

At Mobile World Congress 2024, Honor has been highlighting its AI capabilities, showcasing technology on its smartphones capable of tracking users’ eyes to execute various functions.
