Garmin is launching three luxury smartwatches, all of them packed with a number of activity tracking features in addition to a polished high-end look, for those who’d rather not have a bland looking smartwatch around their wrists.
With a price tag of $1,499 (approx Rs.1.05 lacs) for the highest-end titanium model, the Fenix Chronos definitely falls into the luxury category. Design wise, the overall aesthetic will suit anyone dressed for a day at office, or for an evening out, and it would sit well on the wrist of anyone dressed in formal attire. But at the same time, the smartwatch contains enough fitness and tracking capabilities to make it a more than suitable companion for many different types of sports and fitness activities.
According to Garmin, the watch contains an exceptional number of services in the tracking department that go beyond most smartwatches. They have an altimeter, barometer, compass, and a navigation system for when you need to find your original starting point if you happen to stray too far and get lost during your adventures. Additionally, Garmin has also built in software which allows you to track details for biking, swimming, and other sports as well, including golf.
All three version of the Fenix Chronos come with a “high-strength and scratch-resistant” sapphire lens with a 1.2 inch Chroma Display. This of course comes with LED backlighting as well. The smartwatches also include a 10 ATM water rating, that’s 100m. As for battery life, you’ll get around 13 hours if it’s running and actively tracking, and 25 hours in battery-saving mode.
Along with the titanium option, which is the most pricey, you can opt for the leather band model at $899 (approx Rs. 60,200/-) or the steel band model for $999 (approx Rs. 67,000/-)
